Chemical Hygiene Officer and Environmental Hygiene Officer Responsibilities

This module sets out what a Chemical Hygiene Officer and an Environmental Hygiene Officer are responsible for, in education (school districts, private and independent schools, colleges and universities) and in industry (research, testing, quality control and manufacturing laboratories). For each duty it names the rule that sets it, who carries it, and the record that proves it was done.

• Name the environmental duties an Environmental Hygiene Officer usually carries, and the EPA rule behind each.
• Tell the two roles apart, and say where one hands work to the other.
• Say who is responsible for risk assessment, training, program review and emergency planning, and what record each one leaves.
• Say what the instructor, supervisor, employer or district does beside the officer.
