What is on the poster
Every cut
- Inspect before you start. Blade, guard, fence, table, switch and travel stops. Stock free of nails, screws and staples. Eye and hearing protection on; loose clothing, jewelry and hair secured.
- Stock flat on the table and tight against the fence. Support long pieces. Never cut a piece too small or unstable to control.
- Stand out of the blade path, hands clear. Hold the stock against the fence with the hand away from the blade. Use the handle only: never a guard or anti-kickback device as a handle.
- Start with the carriage fully behind the fence. Let the blade reach full speed, then pull it through smoothly. The blade will try to pull itself toward you: hold firm.
- Pull only far enough to finish, then return the carriage. Keep control of the handle until the carriage is fully back behind the fence.
- Blade stopped before you clear the table. Turn it off, wait for the blade to stop, then remove cutoffs. Unplug before any adjustment or blade change.
No freehand cuts. Never reach across or behind a moving blade. No adjustments while the saw runs.
