Georgia State Specific Science Safety Compliance
Science labs answer to thousands of rules, and most of them apply in every state. This free module covers only the Georgia science lab safety rules and requirements: the ones Georgians need to pay attention to, each tied to the exact Georgia law or rule that sets it. It is the home of the Georgia State Specific Science Safety Compliance Requirements Sheet and teaches the sheet rule by rule.
What a learner will be able to do
- Say which Georgia rules cover local school districts, private schools and state agencies
- Apply Georgia’s eye protection law and the State Board of Education’s rule to a lab
- Register a laser under Georgia’s rule and report a laser injury on time
- Apply Georgia’s master gas shut-off requirement and its state minimum fire safety standards to a school
- Pay Georgia’s small quantity generator fee, and say what the right-to-know law asks of a state agency
- Check that a public school’s safety plan covers hazardous materials accidents, and check an organization against the sheet
Nine lessons following the sheet’s seven numbered rules, four pairs of Georgia scenarios, a task that checks a real organization against the sheet, a 10-question quiz and the Science Safety Certificate.
