New Jersey State Specific Science Safety Compliance
Science labs answer to thousands of rules, and most of them apply in every state. This free module covers only the New Jersey science lab safety rules and requirements: the ones New Jerseyans need to pay attention to, each tied to the exact New Jersey law or rule that sets it. It is the home of the New Jersey State Specific Science Safety Compliance Requirements Sheet and teaches the sheet rule by rule.
What a learner will be able to do
- Say which New Jersey rules cover public, private and charter schools
- Apply New Jersey’s eye protection law and the Department of Education’s rule to a lab
- Check a lab’s eyewash, shower and gas line against New Jersey’s school rules, and say how PEOSH covers public school staff
- Plan New Jersey’s right-to-know refresher training and keep its records
- Complete the Right to Know Survey, label containers, and keep the central file
- Apply New Jersey’s rules on indoor air, declining dissection and the fire code, and check an organization against the sheet
Nine lessons following the sheet’s eight numbered rules, four pairs of New Jersey scenarios, a task that checks a real organization against the sheet, a 10-question quiz and the Science Safety Certificate.
